The Adelaide Critics Circle have announced their 2025 nominations and Book Nooks has appeared on their list.

I feel privileged to be able to write about this. The community nomination for individuals reads, "Benji Riggs, playwright, director & composer, Book Nooks, a Christmas Musical, (The Flying Elephant Company)", and is one in a long list of well-deserved nominations.
I always knew that Book Nooks would be special, and I was recently reminded of how it impacted individual audience members, moving them between tears, laughter, and cheers within the space of its hour-long runtime.
I wrote the show in a little music room - work that was carried out in isolation. I cannot, however, talk about this nomination without acknowledging the incredible work that went on by a host of good and talented people. The cast brought an insatiable joy to the production, the volunteers who worked front of house and backstage created an environment that was warm and wonderful to step into. The City of Burnside took a risk on something untested and generously sponsored the production. These people are what brought the show to life, what gave it power and importance. I am so thankful to them all.
If this goes no further than a nomination, thank you to the Adelaide Critics Circle for considering this work. Thank you to those who came to see it, who shared laughter and tissues. Thank you for making this work important.
You can find the full list of nominations on the Adelaide Critics Circle website.
Benji Riggs,
Artistic Director
