Book Nooks - A Christmas Musical "grabbed the very essence of Christmas magic by the baubles with a heartwarming tale that’s equal parts touching and whimsical", says On Your Markus about the premiere season. He continues, "It’s a festive experience that promises to leave audiences smiling through their tears."
Opening to critical acclaim at the Burnside Ballroom the week before Christmas, Book Nooks quickly became a favourite for the festive season. The musical was written and directed by Benji Riggs, with choreography by Bridget Tran, and a cast of ten South Australian performers.
"That the inspiration figures in this work are Charles Dickens and Stephen Sondheim shine forth from the show. Yes, it is Dickens-a-la-Riggs with a very neat, foot-tapping Sondheim-esque original score", said Samela Harris of The Barefoot Review.
Book Nooks was hailed as "a production to be seen, appreciated and valued" by The Theatre Associated of South Australia.
